Hi Maria –

Great question!!

You can use any fresh juice (diluted) you tolerate to make the gelatin. You can also use plain water, lemon or lime juice if you’re worried about the sugar.

We also recommend you go ahead and skip the gelatin entirely if you’re very concerned about it. About 50% of people react to the gelatin and grape juice in our experience, and the important nutrients in the gelatin are also in the bone broth (intro diet soup). You can skip it completely.

Feel free to email us questions, too, at support@scdlifestyle.com

Just wondering could I use the above recipe for the Intro diet gelatin? I am worried about the grape juice being so high in sugar?

Thanks,

Maria

However, i find i react badly to gelatin. i get very anxious, my mind races and i get a bit panicky. the same thing happens with oatstraw infusions and valerian. Have you had clients with similar reactions to the same foods/herbs? any ideas why? or know someone who does?
thanks

Can I ask where one would go to buy the “Grass Fed” unflavored gelatin? Do you think Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s would carry this? I would love to add this to our our meal planning. TIA.
