It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.

We’ve done gluten free, dairy free, low fod map, specific carbohydrate diet and we are on his second round of antibiotics. He isn’t seeing any relief 🙁 His GI told him to do the specific carbohydrate diet while on this second round, but what you’re saying is the opposite. I just want him back to normal. He’s so down.

This was the most informative page I have found about SIBO. It seems I have one heck of a perfect storm. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which causes very low stomach acid as well as adrenal fatigue. My cortisol was 0.6 last time it was checked (and yes I had all the Addison’s testing, negative). I have issues with my sympathetic nervous system with EDS. The vagal nerve part was interesting. I don’t know if that can become weak due to poor connective tissue. My belly is the size of a pregnancy ready to deliver any day. It’s absolutely huge. I just got my positive SIBO results and the “numbers were off the charts” so I’m on Xifaxan and I’m halfway through my 2 week course and nothing has changed except my belly has in fact, grown. I take daily photos. My doctor’s nurse said she told her to tell me not to add anything else and to see her in 2 weeks after the antibiotic is finished. I am extremely frustrated and feel I’m simply going to chase my tail with this going forward, go broke in the process since I can’t work with my disability which is from the sounds of it definitely causing the root of my problems. I never poop. I literally have a calendar next to my toilet. I’m very afraid that with this malnutrition, my EDS will soon be causing gasteoparesis which will be a complete disaster. Clearly I have dysmotility. I’m pretty scared for what’s ahead. And I don’t like or trust my doctor. I have Medicaid so I’m very limited when specialists are involved. I’m stuck with her. So I plan to purchase what I can of what you listed above. However I won’t get them in time to use them during my treatment unless my doctor puts me on a second round (I’m thinking she will, that comment about Neomycin scared me and my doc already put my on a Omerprazole to decrease my stomach acid which I refused to take, and she told me to go back on gluten instead of having my labs and diagnosis faxed over), I have Celiac too and I’m a vegetarian so the food I do eat is limited already. I don’t want her to be so reckless as I feel she has already been, by putting me on Neomycin along with a second 2 week course of Xifaxan and my hearing winds up damaged. I guess I’m just wondering what happens when someone with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome has the perfect storm that can’t be fixed and severe SIBO that is extremely resistant to treatment?
Thank you for helping me understand my illness SO much better. It helped me, but unfortunately my doctor doesn’t like to be schooled by her patients. Even though I was a nurse before I got so sick. This was a wonderful article.

HI Julie – I can’t say we have the latest research on that, but we typically always suggest a natural approach before we look to medications. We do have a natural protocol found in our gut infection program here if you’re interested: http://gutinfections.scdlifestyle.com

I’m specifically concerned about this when considering Neomycin (used in combo with Rifaximin) since it can cause permanent hearing loss.
